Foxwoods!

Foxwoods hotel and Resort!
Hey everyone, so last sunday, 9/26/10 a few of my friends and I headed to foxwoods to gamble it up.  We always get complimentary rooms and free meals, hell thats worth the trip all in itself.  When I go there I will ussually play texas hold'em for a good twenty hours while getting jack and cokes or long island iced teas.  I only ended up playing for about 6 hours turning $100 into $360 but ended up going to another home cash game and losing $200 so basically I made $60 lol I guess it was worth it.  At Foxwoods though I was making really sick calls and ended up taking three people out of the game.  One hand I had 10-J of clubs and the flop went club, club ace.

It was heads up, and I knew my opponent had a pair of aces but he only made a $20 bet into about an $80 pot.  I had a flush draw and figured I'd try my luck and when the turn hit it was a 10 so on the turn I had any 14 cards to hit on the turn to make my hand better than his.  He ends up pushing all in and I call for a club to come on the river, so he was one of my victims.  Another guy ended up shoving all in and I only had a mid two pair with one of my pairs on the board, it took me a little while to think about it but ended up calling him with the better hand and took him out.  It is awesome to try and read people, try and tell what they have and make the right decision it is a huge thrill of the game.  I tend to go to Foxwoods on several occasions and do pretty well.  We ended up eating at the Scorpion bar which was pretty awesome.

Now I'm waiting for sunday nights cash game.  I hope I do well.

  1. I know a few people who actually make a living playing poker, it’s not that bad of job right now.

How did you get complimentary rooms and free meals?

I’m not too familiar with texas hold’em and poker in general could you give a little tutorial?

    Also what are home games?

I’m intrigued and want to learn more about poker.

  2. My friends and i get plenty of complimentary rooms and meals because we just go there and play a ton of poker. Their rooms aren't all that bad either its one hell of a fun time.
Also, home games are poker games that are held at one's home such as either a poker tournament or cash game. And there is a lot of little things to learn about poker to be a good poker player, for instance trying to read someone and what tells they may be giving off.

  3. I had fun on your texas hold-em table you have at the top. It's a good idea even though it distracted me from writing my paper for about 20 minutes =)
